Sunsets are endings: The end of the
day quietly slipping into the night. Beautiful and without words: They are
proof that not all endings are to be dreaded, or go badly. They are proof that
all endings are also the start of a beginning; whether new or a different
chapter of the same story. But every ending ushers in a beginning; even if that
beginning is dark, uncertainty of what it holds, it should not be feared,
despite any ambivalence about what is left behind in the ending that had to be
for it to enter.

Everything has its time and season. Everything has a purpose and a reason. The rose endures the elements and can suffer the harshest of conditions. Yet bud or bloom, it still has beauty, delicate and fragile even as it is strong and resilient.
Dewdrops on trembling petals, "tears" on a living masterpiece, create an air of vulnerability. In that vulnerability a different kind of soul is revealed, a rare glimpse into something beyond the perception the world has always had.
But not everyone can "see" the truth and beauty can give pain to those who don't know how to handle it. Yet for those who understand that its thorns are "safeguards" and risk because they truly desire to know and get close to its fragrant heart, will "experience" the real treasure.

"Someone I loved once gave me a box full of darkness. It took me years to understand that this, too, was a gift."
Seeing this quote and the words that I wrote another world and lifetime ago brings to mind what happened then and be thankful for it, as I now have no feeling or emotion looking back, only knowing that darkness is not only "given" by others but also experienced with and fallen into, and that it is not such a bad place, for think of the moon as it rests in the night, revealing more often than not more beauty, or such in different way, more soul truth, than what might or can ever be seen in day's light.

Last night I "chased" the setting sun around the lake. From having purple-red fingers after scrambling up a gorgeous roof of danger pitch, to soaking in the glorious marigold sinking into majestic hues of purple-blue, eyes and soul and mind found spark of smile that made everything that had gone before not matter, fading with the dying light. Though not ocean or waves, just the change felt in being by/on the water watching the earth's lights changing of the guard from day to night, gave wings to soul to ready to come to new life this moonlight. Beautiful. Blessed. Being.

Very soon this will all have a different kind of beauty, one with a colder, harsher edge, but it will be no less beautiful; just changing the landscape as we slip slowly and almost too soon into the coming season, which has been trying to push ahead earlier than desired, really. But, as the earth needs the changing seasons, so do we; and sometimes the landscape of our soul mimics physical change, altering our perception and changing us in ways we may not truly see until such seasons pass.

A CANDLE FOR YOU
In my heart I have lit a candle. That candle is for you. Loss is a part of life and everyone experiences it. Everyone deals with it in their OWN way. I will NOT mourn your loss, but rather CELEBRATE your presence in my life, the difference that it made, cherish the memories, to remember you with a smile. Having lit this candle means that I am letting go, or trying to, even as I remember every little thing that you brought to my life, the beauty and happiness, laughter and joy, the new dreams you sparked in my heart, and the wonder that you opened my eyes to.
You are gone from me and I cannot help you if you will not let me. Never forget that you will ALWAYS be a part of me, no matter where you have gone to, where your soul lies, in this world or the next. The loss of you is crippling, but it is one that I will bear with a smile even as tears saturate my soul. Even as those tears flood my heart I will NOT mourn your absence, for without having known you I would not be who I am today, would never have known what it was like to glimpse heaven, even if I was not allowed to touch it, and hold that hope in my soul, have that light to see me through the darkness.
The candle I have lit will always burn bright. It will always remind me of the wonder of you, the BLESSING. It is my way of dealing with your loss, this tragedy that no one could ever possibly know about. It is my burden to bear, even as it is not a burden, because it lights my heart with something I would never have had if not for my soul touching yours across the distance in the time that we had. This candle is my memory of you, the light of the love that nothing can ever replace or be dearer than, and allow me to move FORWARD with my life, thankful for such a gift to be left with.

ANGEL DEMON
While something about her drew attention in daylight, under moonlit darkness depth of that was revealed and intensified. And there in the darkness, horns and halo held no distinction, for she was both angel and demon, her angel with black wings and her demon pure beauty.

CRIMSON [FIRE] GODDESS
Embrace the fire.
Hell is your purifier,
flames the change
lighting your path,
reforging your heart
through the pain,
crimson stain glow
seeping to gold
weeping through your veins
altering your soul,
perception now enlightened,
your inner goddess awakened,
new power stirred,
strength found and grasped
in the heat
of passion that
sets you alight,
brighter than ever
in this world's darkness.
Darkness and light,
hell and heaven,
death and life,
destruction and growth,
pain and beauty,
you all at once.
Embrace it all.

Beauty and pain go hand-in-hand. Like happiness and vulnerability. Live life unexpected but full of promise. Let the world see your wings, fragile as they might sometimes feel, for they have strength you yet do not know. Keep your heart, because even breaking means you feel, and if you do not feel you cannot truly live. I have learned this. Let what might break you make you. Exquisite pleasure plunged into darkness. Yet even in darkness there is light and that is where it shines the brightest. Where you do; turning tragedy into triumph, ashes into diamonds, soul finally truly free.
