MOTIVATIONAL OF THE DAY

The night has passed in its darkness and all things hidden suddenly alight within it, words said and emotions wrought as a soul grasps itself together yet one more time. But yes, the night has PASSED and is no more. In that should be the same of what transpired within it: Let gone and let go and given to Him, for some things our soul should not bear if we want to stand unencumbered by chains of any kind, even those we might have once placed upon ourselves.

The day dawns, the fingers of light reaching across the sky reaching for you, to remind you that light pushes AWAY darkness and a NEW day has begun. A new day and a new time, giving you another opportunity to start fresh and claim it as your own, your life to walk forward in His grace and share YOUR light with the world.

As we grow in darkness, so too do we grow in light, and all that occurs in darkness will eventually be revealed in the light. Let not the darkness be the strength creeping in your soul, but take from it iron strength and indomitable will to mesh with the positive energy and healing love of the light.

MOTIVATIONAL OF THE DAY

It's a mindset. A vision. A way of living. Be so focused on your vision that you instinctively move away from anyone or anything who is not moving in the same direction. FORWARD. Choosing growth and empowerment. New experiences and an enriched life.

Every day is a new day. A fresh start. A blank slate. You choose what you draw on the easel of that day. Make it a work of art that people REMEMBER. That they will want to stop and look at. That speaks to something deeper within them than simple surface logic.

It's all a choice. And it's all on YOU. How you decide will ultimately determine one step closer or one step further from your vision. Each day is an opportunity of possibility. Each moment to be lived with nothing less than passion and soul.

MOTIVATIONAL OF THE DAY

THE MAGIC OF BEGINNINGS

It’s the dawn of a new year, a new era, a new age. It’s the time for a fresh start, a clean slate, a new opportunity, a BEGINNING. It’s the moment to let go of everything that has gone before, accepting that it has moulded you in experience to be part of your testimony, but that it no longer has any power over you or in your life; no strongholds that it can hide in to ambush you at a later date. It’s the day that you EMBRACE the destiny that awaits you.

Your soul knows when it’s time, the start of a new year or not. It may have known for a while and yet you still found it clinging to remnants past, but now it’s time to walk AWAY from all that; everything that has caused destruction and despair and tears. It’s time to step into something NEW, full of opportunity and the promise of dreams, with renewed hope for a wish your heart has long held onto, the glimpse of your reality a dream no longer so far out of reach.

You KNOW and your soul rejoices, flooding final healing through your being much as the ocean washes over the shore and leaves the sand smooth and unbroken. The light that spreads through your essence is from the lifting of the darkness of everything that was “tainting” your soul - the burdens you took on that you should never have, the hurts that wounded you far more than you ever would admit, the toxic people you had let into your life - forgiving yourself and releasing it all.

TRUST your soul, those whispers in its depths, and know that it only wants what is best for you, instinctively already knowing what you need and what must happen for it to be. There is a magic in your soul that wants to be let out, given life with your first breaths of the new dawn and the aspirations that whirl inside your mind. Every “new” beginning is another evolution of your soul, one step closer to the ULTIMATE you, even as you always seek to become better and never should want to stop “becoming”.

MOTIVATIONAL OF THE DAY

LIFE'S FLAMES

Life loves to test us. Sometimes it waits a lifetime to see what we are made of, desiring to surprise us suddenly to observe how we handle its disruption. Other times it seems intent on seeing how well we fare with what seems like setback after setback, to see if we’re truly what we say we are and to see what we can grow INTO.

Life can simmer or it can boil. It can allow your life to rest upon a single ember or it can immerse you in flames so hot you feel like you might burn up from the inside out. Either way, whether we survive the fire and how we come out reveals us to the world and sometimes to OURSELVES.

Life can create a monster or it can create a beast. The difference is that a monster knows no bounds to its fury and the havoc it wreaks based on the “injustice” it feels has been done to it, whereas a beast is a monster who realizes that every trial is a “lesson” and an experience with opportunity for great GROWTH.

Life can transform a monster into a beast. Once it quiets enough to understand and accept the challenges and struggles that face it. A monster of destruction can become a beast of growth, a far more powerful weapon because the difference it makes in the world creates an impact for the BETTER.

Life loves to bring chaos into being. Sometimes simply because it can, sitting back to watch what unfolds. Other times because there is a purpose, change to elicit the activation of the potential lying inside or the resurrection of the passion that might have almost died, so that we might become our BEST.

MOTIVATIONAL OF THE DAY

STARDUST

Life is a miracle. Every day is another chance; every moment a whisper of heaven waiting to be discovered. Let it be unleashed within and without you.

Love is a blessing. It is the most beautiful and most painful all at once. It can lift us to the heights of heaven or the depths of hell. It shows us the nature of "beauty and the beast". It breathes life into us, even as it can "take away". It teaches us valuable lessons about ourselves and life. It is a gift to be cherished when had and given freely without condition. When it touches your soul, it changes you, whether you want it to or not.

Learning is a necessity. Every experience is an opportunity to add to your knowledge or apply things learnt in times past. You are never "too old" to learn and the day you stop is the day you stop "living".

Living is an evolution. It means keeping your heart open once it has been “unlocked”.  Even if it means experiences that break us so they can "make" us and it's often during the darkest times in life that we discover what we are truly capable of, growing in ways we might never have thought we would. Beauty from pain and illumination from destruction, the times in our lives we struggle with the most becoming the strongest part of our life testimony and that which we can use the most to help others.

So open your heart. See the blessings that life has to offer and give and He wants you to HAVE. Keep the faith as you have the courage to dream and CHASE those dreams wherever they may take you. LIVE life as fully and completely as you can while you can. Make the MOST of every day and never stop reveling in the wonder of life. As you do, create such a DIFFERENCE with your life that no one can forget you LIVED.

MOTIVATIONAL OF THE DAY

TURN IT ALL AROUND

There is NEVER a time when you do NOT have the power to CHANGE your life: The direction you’re going in, the people in it, the dreams headed towards. EVERY passing minute is an OPPORTUNITY for you to make decisions that will alter the course of your destiny in a way you might never have imagined. Every decision could turn your life AROUND in a way you could never have foreseen and be something that gives you the ultimate experience of your life.

There is never a time when YOU do not have the POWER to change YOUR life. All it requires in BELIEF in yourself: That yes you ARE in control, that your soul instinctively knows best the path to take when you come to a crossroads, that when you’re not sure faith too is powerful beyond belief. Belief and TRUST in something far greater than you: He is ALWAYS there, and even if it might seem sometimes we stumble, it is not for the hurt that we do, but the lesson in preventing the fall, or picking ourselves back up if we fall.

There is never a TIME when YOU do not have the power to change your LIFE: If you stumble, correct your motion as best you can to create the least damage possible; if you fall, get back up as quickly as you can; if you injure yourself in the fall, realize that you do not have to do everything alone and sometimes being strong means admitting you need help. There are people in your life who will never walk away, who would pick you up and carry you if they had to; never forget that.

YOU always have the POWER to CHANGE your life! You ALWAYS have the power to TURN it all AROUND! OPEN your eyes; see through your SOUL; CONNECT with your world. It is ALL there: Everything you need, everyone you need, within and without. Stay TRUE to your soul; KEEP the faith; hold tight to His PROMISES. Know that in the end everything will be all right; you will arrive where you are supposed to, no matter how long or far to get there; it is a truly life-changing journey to BECOMING.

MOTIVATIONAL OF THE DAY

DIFFICULTY CREATES OPPORTUINTY

Sometimes all you can see is what is going on NOW. You can so OVERWHELMED by your circumstances that you do not see the “good” in the bad, the “wonder” in the “heartache, the “opportunity” in the difficulty.

Roads to the best things in life are not always CLEAR. Sometimes they are fraught with devastation and destruction. Sometimes they are hidden behind obstacles and “road works”. Sometimes they are “over the hill” and out of sight. Sometimes they are disguised as “tests” that determine our true POTENTIAL.

Any time you find yourself in a difficult situation, no matter how small or large the situation, there is an OPPORTUINTY. That opportunity is for GROWTH. It can be mental, physical, psychological, or spiritual, but all intended for one purpose: To make you BETTER.

Every difficulty IS an opportunity to see what you are made OF, to perceive if you have what it TAKES to succeed at what you want in life, to determine the STRENGTH of your desire for the dreams you harbour in your soul, to know if you are on the “right” path to BECOMING.

“Becoming” is a CONSTANT journey, a perpetual purpose that you can spend lifetimes trying to fulfill. And lifetimes it WILL take, as many as is required to create a soul worthy of the potential bestowed upon it. Opportunity knocks on the door of that potential in EVERY difficulty, to see if it will answer, or be discovered and USED.

Sometimes it takes those overwhelming circumstances to see the path ahead, your next step, and to UNDERSTAND just how blessed you truly are. USE your difficulty to make you STRONGER and BETTER than ever.

2013 | Day 71: MAKE IT HAPPEN

MOTIVATIONAL OF THE DAY

MAKE IT HAPPEN

What do you WANT out of life? Where do you see yourself in a year, five years, TEN years? What IMPACT do you want to have made? What do you want to be KNOWN for? The time to decide that is NOW. Decide and go AFTER it. CHASE your dreams. WORK hard to make them your reality.

If you don’t know what you want, sit down and THINK about it. What do you have a PASSION for? What could you do for HOURS and it seems like time barely passes at all? What are you GOOD at? What SKILLS do you have? What are your DREAMS?

When you know, you HAVE to believe in yourself. You have to BELIEVE in yourself to be able to achieve. To achieve, you have to DO. To do, you have to start with DIRECTION. Your dreams, your goals, your ENDPOINT, give you direction in which to move.

You cannot rely on anyone but YOURSELF to make your dreams happen for you. It might take time, but NOTHING is impossible. Nothing is unattainable for the soul who wants it badly ENOUGH. You have to not just dream about it and go about it, but you have to believe it IS possible, that it is your eventual REALITY.

When you believe in yourself and your ability to make it HAPPEN, you pursue every course of action possible TO make it happen. You make life work FOR you. You SEEK the opportunities that will bring you one step closer to your dream. You ACT with your soul. You have to BELIEVE to achieve. Believe IN yourself. Make it HAPPEN.

2013 | Day 17: TIME FOR CHANGE

MOTIVATIONAL OF THE DAY

TIME FOR CHANGE

There's always a time in everyone's life when they KNOW things HAVE to change - they canNOT stay the same anymore, being the way that they are, doing the things that they have done, being the person they have been. There is a trigger that signals "it's time to CHANGE" right NOW! Fear is a natural response to this trigger. So is excitement. We need to learn to see PAST the fear and MANAGE the excitement, to create a BALANCE of emotion and thought in the person that we are going to BECOME. Think not of what lies ahead with pessimism - instead see the beauty and the OPPORTUNITY in being able to REDIRECT your path and create for yourself a DIFFERENT future.

2012 | Day 298: THE COIN

MOTIVATIONAL OF THE DAY

THE COIN

The ground beneath you is unstable, threatening to collapse beneath you, but you have NO fear because you know that it NEEDS to for you to rise to the NEXT level of your life. Your eyes are OPEN to see the outstretched hands above you, knowing now that there ARE those who care and WANT to see you move FORWARD in your life, who want to walk WITH you through life, not because they want something from you, but because they SEE you and “get it”. They get WHO you are and understand where you have been, knowing where you are GOING, desiring to be a part of the NEW life that God is opening up and creating for you to step into.

You need no one to tell you what you want, because you suddenly REALIZED it, waking one morning to find that everything had CHANGED, that little voice in your soul whispering truths you had until now tried to deny to yourself, thinking that if you ignored them, they would go away and be less real, but now, knowing that they are NOT, nor wanting them to disappear, READY to allow them opportunity to GROW and FLOURISH in your life, the one you are stepping INTO.

You know now that you are NOT alone. You know now your HEART. You know now what you SEEK in your future. You know now that you are READY. This is YOUR time, to take a chance on something you would never have risked for before, to give yourself more room to GROW and OPEN your soul to the wonders He has waiting for you. There is no better time than NOW. LISTEN to that inner voice, ACCEPT and reach for those outstretched hands, and LET yourself live life the way you were always INTENDED to.

2012 | Day 271: NOW

MOTIVATIONAL OF THE DAY

NOW

NOW is the time to start moving TOWARDS your DREAMS. NOW is the time to start casting ASIDE your FEAR. NOW is the time to start APPRECIATING what and WHO you HAVE. NOW is the time to LEARN to let GO. NOW is the time to EMBRACE every OPPORTUNITY. NOW is the time to LIVE your LIFE.

There is no BETTER time than NOW. Life waits for no one. Be PREPARED to LIVE it NOW. Not in the future. Not when you are ready. Not when you think you can handle it. Not when you have it all planned out. NOW. Now IS the time.

NOW is the time to start LIVING and living with EVERYTHING you’ve got IN you and have the POTENTIAL to be. Start now and watch yourself as you BECOME what you want and so much MORE. You ARE so much more than you realize and you can only become that when you ALLOW yourself to.

Start BECOMING your BEST self NOW. No more waiting. No more holding out. No more “until the time is right” because the time will NEVER be right. You just DO it because you WANT to. You DESIRE to be ALL that you CAN. And that time is NOW. Now is the TIME.

2012 | Day 253: THE DAWN CHANGE

MOTIVATIONAL OF THE DAY

THE DAWN CHANGE

Dawn creeps upon the world silently but beautifully, streaks of light filtering through the sky, offering the light of hope into the souls of all who see its majesty, profound and inspiring the creativity of their hearts and minds. With dawn comes HOPE for a new day, vision running rampant for the great to achieve, purpose set in MOTION, the promise of being able to start afresh for all.

It’s NEVER too late to change the path you’re on, change your vision, change your purpose, and the dawn offers that one more chance to change your LIFE, make a difference with your day, in word and action, be the difference in someone ELSE’S life.

With opportunity comes responsibility and it’s up to YOU to grasp that opportunity and accept that responsibility. It is up to YOU to decide to CHANGE, to determine that today is not just going to be another day, but a GROWING one, where your life starts and you start EMPOWERING yourself and the world.

So step up. See the dawn, SEIZE the opportunity and make your life count in this era of change!

2012 | Day 237: Doors Opened and Closed

MOTIVATIONAL OF THE DAY

Doors Opened and Closed

What doors are you opening today? Are they doors of opportunity, a chance to make your dreams come true? Or are they doors into the past, to memories that are only going to hold you back?

What doors are you closing today? Doors of negativity, on those who only seek to bring you down and destroy you? Or are they doors to the future, because you are afraid of where they might lead, scared to take the risk and step into the unknown, opening up your soul to something you have no way of knowing how it will turn out?

There are doors that we SHOULD open and doors that we should CLOSE. We are always going to have those decisions to make. In making them, we must remember that whatever we choose, whatever path we follow, and whatever we open our lives to or close ourselves off from, will determine the eventual path our lives take.

Some doors we are only ever given ONE opportunity to enter, and once some doors are closed, they are closed FOREVER. So decide wisely. Are you living a life of opportunity or a life of fear? What DIRECTION do you want your life to take? What do you want to DO with your life? What is your PURPOSE? When you can answer those questions, then you will know what doors to open and close each day.

Day 145: Live with Integrity

MOTIVATIONAL QUOTE OF THE DAY

"Living with integrity means: Not settling for less than what you know you deserve in your relationships. Asking for what you want and need from others. Speaking your truth, even though it might create conflict or tension. Behaving in ways that are in harmony with your personal values. Making choices based on what you believe, and not what others believe." - Barbara De Angelis

TRAINING

HIIT - Rollers:
a. 4 min in 39x18 @ 110 rpm
b. 8 x 20 sec effort/10 sec easy in 39x16 (rpm N/A)
c. 2 min in 39x18 @ 100 rpm
d. 10 min in 39x18 @ 106-108 rpm

Stretch 22 min.

COMMENTS

Sleep - Time and Quality: ~3 hours.

Mood/Aggression: Calm and at peace. Tiredly happy.

Stress: This has gone waaaaaay down.

Endurance: Good.

Quality of Training: I was going to run outside, but it started raining just as I was getting ready, and even though until ~2 years ago, I would have gone out training (and did) in whatever the weather, thunderstorm, hail or what, I won't now, and so I did HIIT on my rollers. Trust me when I say it was HARDER than any sprints would have been!

Recovery: Feel good, though.

Body Composition and Look: Top half of my midsection was grooved and strong re definition first thing - got to get lean enough to KEEP that ALL day, instead of it "fading" as the day goes on.

Other Notes: "All good things come to those who wait." Not always true, but for me it IS. God IS indeed GOOD! (All the time)! He knows what we need better than we do ourselves, and when we are ready, He gives it to us. I've had several opportunities over the last month, some of which I have sought out, but which I have stepped back from after realizing that what you want is not always what's best for you, not willing to sacrifice my dreams, character, or integrity. What I have been given is a life-changing opportunity, the most amazing chance to build my career and implement a new initiative, continuing doing what I love, living the lifestyle and working to make a difference in others' lives

Day 125: If you kick me down, I will only get back up STRONGER!

4. Supinated BB Bent Over Rows 6 x 15

5. Seated DB Shoulder Press 6 x 15
6. Seated DB Rear Raises 6 x 15
Alternate Set D -
7. V-Bar Tricep Push-Downs 6 x 15
8. Alternate DB Bicep Curls 6 x 15 per side

Post-Weights Cardio - Rollers:
10 min in 39x18 @ 106 rpm

Stretch 25 min.

COMMENTS

Mood/Aggression: I have been through myriad moods today, covering the entire range of the emotion and mood spectrums. Beautiful things are happening in the world (life is a blessing), at the same time as the most horrific and ugly (please pray for all who live with the daily threat of war, and give thanks when those we care for wake up unharmed after being bombed). Life is in constant balance, a battle. Doesn't it realize though, that every time it kicks me down, I am just going to get back up, stronger than I was and come back fighting HARDER than ever?!

Energy: After the events that occurred before training, my aggression was spiked, and I went into the gym with a purpose, starting out well, but faltering after ~40 minutes, only my drive pushing me through the rest. I just feel shattered now.

Stress: HIGH.

Joints: My superio-medial right knee was still aching when I woke up this morning and has niggles at me throughout the day, but it's not affecting my functionality.

Endurance: Great.

Pump: Strong and HARD and lasting a LONG time.

Vascularity: The BEST ever during training! I want that ALL the time!

Quality of Training: It was a brief, fast spiel on the CrossRamp pre-weights, aggression and determination driving me . . . Resistance session started out well. Talk about PAIN. For some reason, the pain started pissing me off - as well as all the kids running around in the weights room (I have nothing against people taking youth in there to train, teaching them correctly, etc., but when they are running around rampant, getting in the way and adding to irritability, it's another story). LOVED the definition and vascularity I had during training - both which appeared almost from the start. For some reason, I was also REALLY heated re temperature throughout the session, so much that it seriously felt like the fans were blowing HOT air on me! After the first set of Seated DB Shoulder Press, I was ready to pack it in and just finish this session tomorrow. However, I sat there and stuck it out. I was almost in tears by the end of Alternate Set C - not a usual thing for me, and during Alternate Set D my face was a mask of pain and grit (some guy even deliberately walked in front of me and waved several times, as if trying to distract me or maybe elicit a smile - didn't work). 90 minutes of what ended up feeling more like torture than pleasure, but it was done and I am glad I stuck it out. After all, giving in or giving up is NOT an option, and I am NOT letting them win! . . . Brief cardio on the rollers afterwards, just enough to make it a total of 20 minutes re cardio for today . . .

Recovery: I think the extreme flux of emotion and mood throughout today has affected my energy and feeling more than training itself - although my deltoids and biceps' tendons ARE in pain if I lift anything.

Other Notes: Sometimes we seek opportunities out. Sometimes they are given to us. Sometimes what we want is not what we NEED. Sometimes the favourable opportunities presented to us are not so favourable. God is testing both my faith and my heart, seeing how much trust I have in being driven, pulling away the layers to see the truth of my passions, the core of my dreams. Under scrutiny, beneath the surface of one chance I have been given, comes the realization that if I accept, it means compromising my character and who I am, giving up my dream and stepping away from my purpose, only to become the tool of another. Even though I initially pursued this opportunity, I know now that it is not for me. I know who I am and I will NOT give that up. I have my dreams and I will NOT give them away. I understand my purpose and I will NOT stray from that. Sometimes He gives us what we want, so that we can see that it is not in our best interests. Sometimes doing nothing IS doing something. It's a daily surrender, having faith that what is best for me He knows, and will reveal it when I am READY, guiding me in the direction I need to be and should be going.

COMMENTS

Sleep - Time and Quality: ~8 hours. For some reason I was completely SHATTERED yesterday.

Mood/Aggression: See under "Other Notes".

Energy: Lagging a little during Session 1, but going to be the best for Session 2!

Mental Focus and Clarity: I am completely blown away!

Stress: My mind is light!

Libido: Tumultuous.

Endurance: Great.

Strength: Progressing.

Pump: Strong as ever.

Quality of Training: Session 1 - HIIT was great, loving the return of my speed endurance. Was a little lightheaded during the resistance session, but stuck it out, welcoming the pump and burn. Rollers afterwards helped me relax somewhat . . . Session 2 - Felt really fresh during pre-weights run, legs great. However, felt shattered during resistance training, not wanting to be there and getting irritated, wanting to throw the weights around. Didn't even want to sit on the rollers afterwards, but did anyway . . .

Appetite: It's time to STOP the "cheating", even if I have faster progress with it. It's time to make my higher calorie days all CLEAN. I can do this. I WILL do this, and I will make sure that I get the same progress and results taking better care of my body!

Other Notes: I have been blessed more than ever the last few days. EVERYthing that happens has a purpose and God is making things very clear for me. He knows my heart, what I long for and where my passion lies and He has a plan for me, maneouvring me exactly where I am supposed to be. The "bad" times and darkness were required to show me the light I had misplaced, reveal the truth I had stepped away from, to teach and prepare me for what is to come, to give me the courage to step out further and take the next risk. The more I trust in Him to drive me, the more doors and opportunities open up, and the more at peace my mind and spirit are!
