Review of LG Sciences' 7-keto DHEA Topical

With their Grape flavoured BC+EAA ALREADY a STAPLE in my supplement arsenal, and having used a myriad of LG Sciences' products, I had no hesitation in asking to test the beta topical 7-keto DHEA for Eric, and thank you to Chris, who was kind enough to give me the opportunity to.

What is it? For more information, review Topical 7-Keto.

Dosage: The recommended dosage is 12 sprays once (or twice) daily, ideally post-shower - ~6 sprays is 25mg of 7-keto DHEA, so the recommended daily dosage is 50-100mg per day. I was using a lot MORE than 12 sprays, right from the start - DOUBLING the "per dose" initially, and then a little more, until I was using 100-150mg 1-2 times daily. From 15 December (i.e. the first two weeks), I used 24 (i.e. 100mg) pumps of the 7-keto DHEA topical applied post-post-training/morning shower. From 25 December (i.e. the last two weeks), I used 24-36 pumps (i.e. 100-150mg) of the 7-keto DHEA topical applied post-post-training/morning shower and 24-36 pumps (i.e. 100-150mg) pre-bed.

Smell: 10/10. The 7-keto DHEA topical smelt like alcohol - it was not strong, and the scent faded and disappeared within minutes of spraying, so no lingering smell after application or during the day, or when sweated, etc.

Feel: 10/10. A quick cool touch, like that you get when you get water sprayed on you. The 7-keto DHEA topical is not greasy or sticky after application.

Spreadability/Application: 10/10. The 7-keto DHEA topical is not a lotion, but a spray. When I was only using 100mg of the 7-keto DHEA, if I tried and spread it immediately after application to anywhere but the place where the spray hit my skin, it would NOT spread there, but with more sprays it would if I wanted to, but I had to do it fast, because the 7-keto DHEA topical was dry in mere seconds after spraying it on my skin.

Body Composition: 9/10. Pre-7-keto DHEA topical I was 118 pounds at 10% bodyfat. Currently I am 115.2 pounds at 9.8% bodyfat. Overall, I lost three pounds (although, weight is irrelevant because it fluctuates so much, and only last week I was 111 pounds) and 0.2% bodyfat. However, I am NOT going to look at the overall (which doesn't look that impressive), and instead are going to look at the first two weeks of use and last two weeks of use (and you can see the difference in the dosage used). After two weeks of use at using 100-150mg daily (one application), I had actually gone up to 123 pounds at 11% bodyfat. The last two weeks, using 200-300mg a day (two applications), I dropped back to 9.8% bodyfat (this is the BIGGEST decrease in bodyfat that I have EVER had in a single week!) - actually did this in the third week - and maintained it (weight fluctuating between 111-115 pounds). Also to note that the last two weeks I have not had much of an appetite (which caused the dramatic weight loss down to 111 pounds), but have been forcing down meals this last week. The higher dosage definitely makes a NOTICEABLE difference!

Cortisol Levels: N/A. Although I would have liked to see what my cortisol levels were like pre and post the 7-keto DHEA topical, unfortunately I did not have any bloods done. I can say however, that the last two weeks of using the higher dosage (200-300mg o a day)of the 7-keto DHEA topical have been the LEAST stressed I have felt in YEARS (even though circumstances would say that my stress should be off the charts!), which is quite something!

Sides: 9/10. The only "effect" that could possibly have occurred was that my joints started playing up. In fairness, I don't think this can be attributed to the 7-keto DHEA topical, even though it decreases cortisol, because I was also lifting heavier AND was NOT using Erase during my use of the topical (and Erase is usually what saves my joints).

Other Effects: 10/10. No water retention - in fact, the first week I started using 200-300mg of 7-keto DHEA a day, I started DRYING out, and it was especially noticeable in my upper body and midsection.

Pros: This was the most enjoyable topical I have ever used. No lingering smell. No burning sensation. Dries fast - non-sticky and non-greasy. I don't have to rub it on - just spray, and nothing went wrong with the spray nozzle. No stains left by the topical on or to get on my clothes even if I got wet or sweated. No water retention - like you get with most topicals. The bottle lasted a LONG time - and would have lasted a whole lot longer than it will if the recommended dosage was followed.

Cons: The only issue I had was that I used so much re sprays daily. I got the best results when I was using 200-300mg of 7-keto DHEA daily, which was 8-12 times MORE than was recommended.

Overall: 9.7/10. Once I was using 200-300mg of 7-keto a day, my body composition started to change dramatically, and I made the BIGGEST DEcrease in body composition over a 7-day period, with of a loss of 1.2% bodyfat in my third week of use. The last week (i.e. the fourth week), I cut my training back from 2-3 hours a day to only 60-90 minutes a day, started eating again (even though I had to force the food down), and traveling, and maintained 9.8% bodyfat!

Would I use again? Definitely! This product seems like it was literally "made for me" - a perpetually highly stressed individual, the 7-keto DHEA topical is perfect for me, and I actually want to make this a STAPLE in my supplement arsenal!

Would I recommend? Absolutely! No hesitation

Review of LG Sciences' Anadraulic State GT

What is it?

* Endurance and Energy
* Pumps and Muscle Density
* Fat Loss and Vascularity
* Testosterone Output
* Sexual Stamina and Performance
* Muscle Growth and Muscle Quality

For the product write-up see Anadraulic State GT by LG Sciences.

Smell: 7/10. An interesting smell on opening the tub, that I can't quite describe, which is nothing like the final smell once the Anadraulic State GT is mixed with water and ready to drink. Stopped noticing the smell of the powder after a while.

Taste: 9/10. Anadraulic State GT tastes what I imagine strawberry lemonade would taste like, if I ever had it. The taste grew on me, and was definitely a lot better than the taste of Anadraulic State (my last couple of tubs of Anadraulic State were nothing like the first one I used re taste and were not pleasant).

Solubility: 10/10. The powder mixed well on shaking for a few seconds.

Texture: 10/10. Like fruit juice diluted with water.

Body Composition: 9/10. Pre-Anadraulic State GT I was 117.4lb at 12.6% bodyfat. Post-Anadraulic State GT I am 118.2lb at 12.1% bodyfat. . . I LOST a total of 0.5lb of bodyfat and GAINED 1.3lb of lean body mass, with girths indicating that this gain was mostly in the form of muscle mass/DRY gains, since overall just over an inch was lost from my waist, and although little or no changes made everywhere else, my pants fit looser despite my girths having made not a lot of change . . . A definite and successful RECOMP - as opposed to the cut I was aiming for, but fat WAS lost, and I am not going to argue against making dry gains (and I am going to note here that it is definitely easier to gain muscle mass when I am >12% bodyfat, which makes sense) . . .

Fat Loss: 8/10. See comments under "Body Composition" above.

Muscle Growth and Muscle Quality: 10/10. See comments under "Body Composition" above.

Muscle Hardness and Density: 8/10. My muscles remained pretty hard throughout my use of Anadraulic State GT, which, although I was training again, was a little surprising considering that my resistance training was quite a lot LESS than what it usually would be - sessions a lot shorter, and only three of them, as opposed to 4-5 x 40-60 minute ones. Legs got noticeably harder, with lower body becoming denser.

Testosterone Levels: N/A. Although I would have liked to see the changes in my Testosterone (total and free) levels from pre to post-Anadraulic State GT, I did not have bloods done.

Growth Hormone Levels: N/A. Although I would have liked to see the changes in my Growth Hormone levels from pre to post-Anadraulic State GT, I did not have bloods done.

Levels: N/A. Although I would have liked to see the changes in my Estrogen levels from pre to post-Anadraulic State GT, I did not have bloods done.

Cortisol Levels: N/A. Although I would have liked to see the changes in my Cortisol levels from pre to post-Anadraulic State GT, I did not have bloods done. I will note that my stress levels have been even higher than usual due to circumstances.

Recovery: 8/10. My resting heart rate dropped from 40 bpm to 36 bpm over the time that I used Anadraulic State GT, so I actually got fitter over the course of my use of the product (which is a great thing) . . . My recovery from training was pretty good considering the fact that I got very little sleep (if any) over the last 28 days, not sleeping for a huge majority of it. The first couple of weeks, I suffered from DOMS, and in my lower body, which is unusual. However, for the last 10 days, DOMS from training was completely eliminated . . .

Nutrient Absorption and Utilization: 8/10. My diet did not change while I was using Anadraulic State GT. With the amount of food that I was consuming, for me to be getting LEANER and NOT being bloated, etc. the days after says to me that the nutrients were rapidly absorbed and were being used efficiently and effectively.

Libido/Sexual Stamina and Performance: 10/10. Libido was out of this world (although I attribute this predominantly to T-911, since it has that effect on me)! My body honestly was getting fatigued from the demands of my mind.

Energy: 8/10. Energy was most noticeable when training, since I often woke most days (if I woke at all and wasn't still awake from the day before) feeling completely shattered (mostly from work and other things going on in my life), and even when I didn't feel like it, or thought that I had nothing there, I got through my training sessions. Sometimes I could have even kept going.

Stimulant Effects: 10/10. No "stimulant" effects such as jitters, crash, etc. were experienced, even though Anadraulic State GT definitely aided with the energy and focus, etc. of a stimulant.

Focus: 8/10. When I was training I was focused, although I got lightheaded a lot. Just meant that I had to take a few deep breaths and concentrate more.

8/10. Endurance got better as I went along (but I was also using Drive, which plays a huge role in my endurance).

Pump: 7/10. Training was not really set up to be 'pump friendly'. However, I got bad pumps in my anterior deltoids and biceps for the most part, with them being quite painful most times. The pump on Anadraulic State GT was definitely not as good as on Anadraulic State (then again, training on the latter was definitely 'pump' material, too).

Vascularity: 7/10. Vascularity was good - although not as good as it was when I was using Anadraulic State (and I was also leaner when using the latter, which makes a difference).

Sides: 10/10. I did not experience any nausea, tummy upsets, bloating, etc. from the Anadraulic State GT, even though I used the full dosage and even went up to 2 scoops pre-training a couple of times (and I find that 2 scoops pre-training is actually my sweet spot!)

Other Effects: 10/10. Strength gains were made most weeks, with a few new RMs being made . . . Aggression really calmed down, considering how high it was on FREE TEST, which was interesting . . .

Overall: 9/10. Anadraulic State was already my favourite specific preworkout product of use, and so it was interesting comparing Anadraulic State GT to it . . . Although, the situations they were used in were different, with training completely different, making it hard to really compare them, there were a few noticeable differences. Anadraulic State was, IMO, a stronger formula than Anadraulic State GT. Anadraulic State GT tastes a lot better and is smoother re flavour than Anadraulic State. Anadraulic State dried me out more (comments from others), and made a more noticeable difference re physique - however, in saying that, I was not as lean when I started using Anadraulic State GT as I was using Anadraulic State, and only lost 0.5% bodyfat in 28 days, as opposed to the 1% bodyfat lost in 10 days on Anadraulic State(then again, a specific diet and training protocol was also followed during Anadraulic State, which makes a huge difference re results). The differences between the two products made them come out even, though, for me. Anadraulic State GT is definitely a very versatile product and has proved that it can be used for ANY body goal! . . . Both products are solid, and Anadraulic State GT still takes the place of number one specific/standalone preworkout product for me . . .

Would I use again? Yes. Although not as strong as Anadraulic State, IMO, Anadraulic State GT is still definitely a solid product, and the fact that it encompasses several products (i.e. creatine, nutrient repartitioner, Testosterone and Growth Hormone booster, and preworkout) in ONE is a definite PLUS!

Would I recommend? Yes. For anyone wanting a preworkout formula that delivers, then Anadraulic State GT is one of the most complete formulas and best options out there, IMO.

Mood/Aggression: I am trying to chill the fcuk out!

Energy: Good.

Mental Focus and Clarity: My mind is racing . . .

Endurance: The first time I did the V-Burn Challenge Circuit, I managed only three rounds before calling it a day; I'm now doing the required seven rounds, so improvement is definitely showing there.

Quality of Training: Really GOOD!

Sides: Even though I used two scoops of Anadraulic State GT pre-training again today, there were not even a hint of tingles or anything else.

2 Weeks of Anadraulic State GT and T-911

Brief 2-Week Review

I am not assigning scores out of 10 just yet - I will wait until I have finished the next couple of supplement periods, doing this after I have finished these two products for the second part of the 'cycle'. As far as everything has been so far . . .

Mood: Mood has been up and down. This has nothing to do with either supplement, but more with my circumstances at the moment - which, incidentally, coincided with the time I started them. However, having energy again has been a mood boost.

Energy: My energy has definitely improved, and without either supplement, I would not have managed to get the training that I HAVE got done, done. So, a definite positive. This is the hugest effect I have noticed, and I am very grateful for it. Results from the first dose of each product!

Stimulant Effects: I rarely experience these from stims any more, and only had them once with these products - the first time I dosed them both at the same time.

Focus: Focus has been forced, but they have made it easier. This has a lot to do with my improved energy levels.

Endurance: Haven't really done enough cardio to notice this. However, re resistance training, I HAVE decreased my recovery time down to only 30 seconds and been managing fine, so it is improvement.

Strength: This has not really changed much - haven't done enough training for it to have. On the upside, I have not lost much strength - if any - from barely training in the 11 weeks prior to starting the products, and minimal training during.

Pump and Vascularity: Pump has been great. Vascularity has had a few spectacular days thrown in there, especially as I get heated - but also throughout the day, it's getting better.

Quality of Training: Training has only been 3-4 days a week, as opposed to the usual 6-7 days a week, but the training that I HAVE done, has been done well. It's been more about getting quality in, as, although I've found the energy for it, I've still not been anywhere near 100% or even up to par (as I consider it).

Stress: My stress has continued to spiral up and almost out of control - again, as with mood, more to do with circumstances than anything else. However, as I noted yesterday, cortisol levels seem to be affected by this stress - when it has not been affected by my high stress levels like this before.

Libido: This has been hit and miss. I have not been training as I should, which affects it. Mood has been all over the place, which, again, affects my libido. Stress has not been productive high stress that stimulates libido. And body composition and look have been far from desirable to illicit such interest. T-911 usually increased my libido like nothing else, but everything that has - and continues to - happen recently, has overcome this usual effect.

Body Composition and Look: Although my bodyfat percentage has decreased, my body mass has increased, and my legs have gained close to two inches! Again, stress and circumstances and lack of 'proper' training are affecting my physique. Stress has affected cortisol levels in a way it never has before, and it is playing havoc with my body. Circumstances have affected so many aspects - on top of the fatigue I have, -that things have gone from haywire to something else. I have also been spending several days weekly working a hectic 6-7 hours in constant movement on my feet, which is something that my body is no longer used to (and also affecting energy and sleep levels and patterns) - almost as if it's replacing the training that I should be doing. Training has been minimal at best, and training is the KEY factor for me re body composition, that NOT training has highly undesirable repercussions.

Sides: The only effect that I experienced was that my body got heated a lot faster and more than usual, with more sweat, especially with the addition of T-911 - this was not that bad, though. No sides or unpleasant effects were noticed from Anadraulic State GT.

Overall: I really loved the original Anadraulic State, and Anadraulic State GT is no different. It's still one of my most highly recommended preworkout products - T-911 as well - and looking forward to continuing my use of it.

The Next 4 Weeks

Anadraulic State GT and T-911 have started me back re energy and training as they were intended, and I will be taking a break from them for the next four weeks, using them again after that for a further 2-3 weeks.

Comments

Mood: I need to work on being more positive. Around people, I am all smiles, and by myself, it's like my dark twin residing.

Energy: Not the best on waking. After taking T-911, started picking up. Been a busy day on my feet since training . . .

Stimulant Effects: None.

Focus: There.

Endurance: This has suffered quite a bit over the last 12-13 weeks, and I am going to get back to where I was!

Strength: Fine.

Pump and Vascularity: Pump felt immediately from first set during resistance training (HIIT aided towards it, re skipping). Vascularity was fine.

Quality of Training: HIIT not the best. Skipping rope broke after the first set of efforts, so had to finish on the Gazelle (I'm NOT a fan of the Gazelle; I can never seem to actually be able to do PROPER efforts on it) . . . Resistance training was ok. Feeling my anterior deltoids painfully . . .

Stress: High.

Libido: Interesting . . .

Body Composition and Look: The extra weight definitely makes a difference in training - especially during cardio, even more when running . . .

Sides: None.

May 28, 2010

Day 148: Realizing that Change has to happen NOW!

Training

pm

HIIT Cardio:
a. 4 min skipping
b. 8 x 20 sec effort/10 sec rest
c. 4 min skipping

Stretch 20 min.

Comments

Mood: Not the best.

Energy: Have had a headache all day. Energy not great, either.

Stimulant Effects: Not even the T-911 could get me in the game today.

Focus: Some. Trying very hard to keep it together.

Endurance: Needs to get a whole lot better (along with a lot of other things).

Strength: N/A.

Pump and Vascularity: Not much of a pump. Vascularity strong.

Quality of Training: Had no motivation for it whatsoever, even though I have all the reasons to be motivated in the world. Funny twist of fate,

Stress: I honestly don't think that it can get any higher than it is right now!

Libido: So many other things on my mind . . .

Body Composition and Look: I am the biggest and unleanest that I have ever been in my entire life and I hate it. I feel uncomfortable in my own skin and cannot wait until my training is back to normal, since that's what's has been the issue - not being able to train has affected me in more ways than one, including physically . . .

Sides: None.

May 26, 2010

Day 146: Exhausting Hamstrings

Training

am

Hamstrings/Abs (30 sec recovery between alternate sets):

2. Walk-Outs 4 x 6
Alternate Set B -
3. High Step-Ups 4 x 12 per leg
4. Stiff-Legged BB Deadlifts 4 x 12
Alternate Set C -
5. Weighted Knee-Ins (on bench) 4 x 10
6. Crunches (hips at 90 degree flexion, legs at full extension, hands to touch toes) 4 x 10
7. V-Curls 4 x 10

Post-Weights Cardio 20 min.

Stretch 20 min.

Comments

Mood: Up and down . . .

Energy: Had some energy for training . . . Training must have tired me out - combined with the heat - and I passed out on the couch for a few hours at 1700, drifting since 1600 . . .

Stimulant Effects: None from Anadraulic State GT . . . Lots from T-911 re thermogenesis, causing excessive sweating . . .

Focus: There during training. Not a lot during rest of the day.

Endurance: Need more!

Strength: Hamstrings' day is NOT about strength.

Pump and Vascularity: Pump like WOW! Feeling it so strong in my hamstrings. Vascularity was good - want it HIGHER.

Quality of Training: Resistance training was interesting. I added in a few exercises I haven't done in a while. KNEES - they're pretty bad, and I can barely flex completely anymore; going to have to work on that. Thinking of stopping ALL Legs' work for a bit - since my legs do NOT need any more growth; they've gotten even BIGGER, if that's possible - and just concentrate more on areas where I need work, like shoulders and arms . . .

Stress: Higher than the highest peak in the world.

Libido: Picking up . . .

Body Composition and Look: AAAAARRRRRGGGHHHH!!!

Sides: Just the excessive sweating whilst training - the heat isn't helping; I HATE this heat, and especially the humidity . . .

Stretch 24 min.

Comments

Mood: Haven't been to sleep in over a day now - despite being tired and exhausted as anything after work last night, feeling like I was going to flake at any minute. Ups and downs re mood, which is fairly normal.

Energy: T-911 adds just that little bit more - also because of the stimulants in it. However, really feeling body heavy and energy dropping during resistance training.

Stimulant Effects: A little increase in heart rate during resistance training, but not outside of the norm.

Focus: Even though all I want to do is sleep, I have to get through until at least 12am on full alert . . .

Endurance: Not the best. Not pleased.

Strength: Strength has taken a beating in this area - need to start building it back up, and fast.

Pump and Vascularity: Pump was definitely good. Vascularity was also good, with right side more vascular than left (go figure).

Quality of Training: HIIT Run was poor (I can't wait until my body doesn't feel like a dead weight!) Resistance training was ok, but could have been better. Didn't even want to be doing post-weights cardio, but know that I HAVE to . . .

Recovery: Abs are in pain (at least I know I WORKED them yesterday!), and hamstrings are a little tight still.

Stress: Higher than high.

Libido, Sexual Stamina and Performance: Not a chance right now. Soon, though . . .

Body Composition and Look: A work in progress . . .

Sides - Actually, felt a little nauseous today during training. T-911 has a thermogenic effect, because I was sweating a lot more than usual, and feeling like I was running a fever. Also got quite heady between alternate sets, from the second half of my resistance session onwards.

May 19, 2010

Day 139: Day 1 of Anadraulic State GT

Initial Impressions of Anadraulic State GT

Smell - 5/10: An interesting smell on opening the tub, that I can't quite describe, which is nothing like the final smell once the Anadraulic State GT is mixed with water and ready to drink.

Taste - 7/10: Anadraulic State GT tastes what I imagine strawberry lemonade would taste like, if I ever had it.

Solubility: 10/10: The powder mixed well on shaking for a few seconds.

Texture - 10/10: Like fruit juice diluted with water.

Other Effects - 10/10: I did not experience any nausea, tummy upsets, bloating, etc. from the Anadraulic State GT.

Comments

Mood: Despite sleeping for a long time and waking far later than I wanted to, made sure to keep my mood light and positive. Today was the first real day back training after 10 weeks of attempting to train and being unsuccessful.

Energy: Not the best. Feeling quite dead and heavy during HIIT Run, but pushing through resistance training. Post-weights cardio was the best re energy, spinning fast.

Stimulant Effects: Did not experience any.

Focus: Concentrating hard during resistance training, finding the time going quickly.

Endurance: This is one area I definitely have to improve on - NOT training has made such a difference here.

Strength: Fine. I haven't lost any strength from not training, which is interesting.

Pump and Vascularity: Pump was reasonable. Vascularity was ok - got better as resistance training went on.

Quality of Training: Not bad for the first session back. A few disappointments and a few surprises.

Recovery: I feel ok - tomorrow will be the telling factor.

Stress: Highly stressed - as always.

Libido, Sexual Stamina and Performance: Could be better - the high stress and fatigue has kind of taken a toll on this the last few weeks, so let's get it back to normal.

Body Composition and Look: I am the biggest that I have ever been in my life right now, so not very happy - although I can blame no one but myself. Training makes such a difference in what my body looks like, so I am looking forward to getting back to being comfortable with my body, and regaining my health and fitness again.

Sides - I did not experience any sides (as mentioned above in my 'Initial Impressions'), nor did I experience any tingling from the Beta-Alanine either.
