MOTIVATIONAL OF THE DAY

LOOK FORWARD

“Change is good.” So said someone dear to me today. And they are 100% right. Change IS good. And it IS time for change.

Time to change not just the way we look, but HOW we look and WHY. Time to change the mindsets that “guide” and “drive” us. Time to change the angle of perception we have on and in the world. Time to change the very nature and core of our health and wellbeing.

Change is not always instant and my mindsets have been challenged as I’ve asked myself some hard questions over the last few weeks. Everything though, ultimately comes together, to create something that sometimes seems “overnight”.

The wonderings, pondering, musings, have all allowed the door to the past to be completely shut, all the locks changed and the keys thrown over cliffs no one would dare venture over to get. And that’s the way it SHOULD be. Because life is all about living it FORWARD.

There is so much to look forward TO. Mind refreshed and being renewed. Eyes “turning” and being refocused. Soul quieter and being restored. Prepared and making changes, moving life FORWARD.

MOTIVATIONAL OF THE DAY

BEAUTIFUL MADNESS

No one is perfect. In fact, it is our IMPERFECTIONS that make us WHO we are, that make us BEAUTIFUL, that make us stand OUT. Besides, who wants to be perfect? If you’re perfect you never change, you never grow, and you never become better. And life is all about change, growth, and building on what is already there, layer upon layer, creating the complex and beautiful being that we are and were intended to be. Beauty is not in perfection; it is in IMperfection.

We all see the world differently. Therefore we each define the world and the way we experience it differently to everyone else. The world cannot be put into a small, square box, like some would will it, neat and clean and tidy and specifically labelled as something. Our DIFFERENCES make us unique. What some call “madness” others call “genius” and just because others have a certain perspective of you does not mean it is truth. All genius is discovered and created from what is always seen as “madness”.

Life is meant for LIVING. Dancing and laughing in the rain just because you can. Loving when all seems impossible, because the greatest happiness comes from dreaming and following our hearts. Taking the odds because you’d rather risk than play it safe. Standing OUTside the circle of others, because carving your own path is better than blending in and losing yourself.

Life is for making an IMPRESSION. On ALL whose paths you cross. And there is no greater impression left than that of one who KNOWS who they are, completely confident in it, striding through life with passion and purpose, imperfectly beautiful, the sparkle of mad genius like a halo around them, so wonderfully and unexpectedly different from the rest of the world that they are never forgotten, leaving a small part of themselves in the soul of all their lives touch.

MOTIVATIONAL OF THE DAY

MAGIC OR MISERY

The beauty of life is that NOTHING is guaranteed. Nothing is set in stone. Everything has possibilities. Everything has LIMITLESS potential. Dreams can stay as dreams or become realities. Dreams can create magic or turn into nightmares.

The beauty of life is that we get to CHOOSE how we live it. We get to choose how we perceive it. Everything can be magic. Or everything can be misery. The difference between them is US. We choose the way we see the world.

The beauty of life is that magic is all AROUND us. It is in the sunlight streaming in to wake you in the morning. It is in the priceless smile of your children. It is in the love conveyed through a simple hug from your partner. It is in the playful teasing of your fluffy kittens pretending they are fearsome hunters. Magic is in the most ordinary of things if we open our soul to SEE it.

The beauty of life is that it is just the way WE see it. We can make it positive or negative. We can see the glass half full or half empty. We can see it as light or dark. We can see it as for us or against us. We can see it as MAGIC or misery.

The beauty of life is that we can live in the magic or dwell in misery. Living in magic creates lightness in your soul. It fuels the hope that gets you through when misery has the opportunity to take over. Living in magic means that life becomes one great ADVENTURE. It becomes wonderful no matter what. So what will YOU choose?

2012 | Day 180: Do YOU See ME?

MOTIVATIONAL OF THE DAY

What You See

A million people can look at the same thing and see something DIFFERENT. What you see depends on what eyes you use. And those eyes are a product of your life experiences - past and present - and who you are as an individual.

You can tell something of an individual by their perspective. Just because life might have dealt them an unfortunate hand in the past or the now does not mean that their outlook is going to be bleak and grim, and vice versa - just because one might have had everything they ever wanted, supposedly so happy throughout their lifetime, does not mean that they are going to have a positive, upbeat view on life.

We are not just a product of our experiences and environment, but there is something deep within each and every one of us that has the power to OVERCOME anything that has happened to us. That power is STRONG in some individuals - you can usually tell who they are, because they turn out NOTHING like what their history would “dictate” they be. Some people are just weak, something inside them not wanting or willing to rise above their circumstances - you can also tell them, the ones they can predict based on a “profile”.

When you view a sunrise, what do you see? New life and beauty and the chance to start over with a fresh slate? Or do you see just another day of pain and suffering and wanting it to be over with as fast as possible? Positive or negative? Happy or depressed?

Some days our perception of the SAME thing may change, and that’s normal. CHANGE is normal - if we did not change, then we are not GROWING.

What we see when we look at any given thing depends on who we ARE. And who we are should always be CHANGING, GROWING, BECOMING BETTER.

Post-Weights Cardio:
Recline Bike 20 min @ 103-105 rpm

Sleep: Exhausted yesterday. Ended up eating something (outside my 8-hour Lean Gains feeding window - which wasn't great either, but eh) and then going straight to bed, passing out almost as soon as I was curled up.

Energy: Have had a surprising amount of energy today - maybe it is because I have been constantly on the go, in and out between the house and the gym, with more and more things to get done. Being busy is ok, but my body is feeling it, particularly my left shoulder and wrist - which is why I waited until this evening to do my resistance session.

Joints: Starting to get worse - especially in shoulders and left wrist.

Quality of Training: HIIT was done in the heat of the day when I had a spare half hour - lower legs really feeling the stress, and only did a short session...Resistance training was ok. Very similar session to last week, if not the same, with just dumbbells used in place of a barbell and plates for a couple of exercises. Reps the same as well. Shoulders the "limiting" factor in this session, and I pushed through the pain as much as I could, slowing the tempo down a little on some exercises, if I knew I wasn't going to get more reps out, just to make sure it was a little harder...Definitely didn't feel like doing post-weights cardio, but did, and that was that...
