MOTIVATIONAL OF THE DAY

STRONGER THAN YOU THINK

What you’re going through now – God didn’t give it to you because He knew you couldn’t handle it; He gave it to you because He knew you COULD. He would NEVER have given you something He knew was NOT in your capability to handle, if the strength you needed was not already inside you just waiting to be found and used.

Sometimes we are given struggles so that we might FIND our strength and realize that we had it all along. Sometimes those struggles are given to DEVELOP the strength dormant in us, the strength we never might have thought we had; or maybe the strength we were not sure we wanted to see. Sometimes our struggles only make us realize just WHAT we have within us.

What faces you might seem daunting. You might not be able to share it with another soul, or only one other, and it is tearing you apart – such are the tests of life, the trials that “make us” when we REFUSE to break. Know that whatever the circumstances, He KNOWS you ARE strong enough – you might just have to get down on your knees and cry out for it, trusting that He will “give” it.

When life delivers such a blow, crippling your soul so that you feel like darkness is your only escape route, wanting to run and hide from the world for a time or maybe forever, understand and take some comfort, hard as it might seem amidst the pain, that though it is not a way YOU would have chosen, you are “given” the life you lead BECAUSE you are strong ENOUGH to live it.

MOTIVATIONAL OF THE DAY

EDGE OF DIFFICULTY

Sometimes in our lives it seems like one thing after another – if it’s not pain it’s conflict and if not conflict then another intense emotion, and so on. Sometimes it seems like there is no “calm” and only “storm”, one difficulty after another, obstacles that challenge us when we might feel that we’ve already reached the limit of what we can handle at this moment. Sometimes it can be hard to remember that He is guiding our paths and to trust that He knows what He’s doing.

But we must – trust. Trust that He knows what He has to do to us in order to make us stronger. To make us fully aware and capable of all that He truly wants in our lives. To give us the courage and determination to never ever “settle” or “lie down” and fight for what is ours and “right”. To push us so that we have to acknowledge that we are but human and cannot do this on our own strength and ask Him for HIS, knowing how futile was our own capacity the last time we tried and fell and almost broke as we did.

Trust can be so hard – knowing what your trust has “given” before. But He is not like the world and in Him your trust is NOT misplaced. Even when it seems that He ignores you, when your faith can be even more tested and trust questioned, He is not, because sometimes He wants you to learn from what is transpiring, whether to take the risk to spread your wings and fly, no matter how tentatively, or realize that He is the source of your strength and power.

If you cannot fly – if you keep trying and fall time and again, plummeting further each time it seems than the last attempt, when your soul despairs so close to “giving up”, that’s when you just need to learn to let go and let GOD. You might dream recurring of falling in endless black since childhood, and sometimes yes, you may have “hit the bottom”, and in life you may feel like you can and have fallen too far to be saved, but He can and WILL catch you before your final resolution.

It takes a lot of courage to trust – even a little, let alone completely. But we must hold onto faith and believe as we do all that WE can in facing what faces us and trust that HE will do His part as we do ours. It is a partnership relationship that sometimes you might feel you can give less than you receive, but in doing even what you can and placing your trust in His hands, you are allowing something much MORE to happen and can create much more than you might ever fathom.

MOTIVATIONAL OF THE DAY

THE SMALLEST STEP

You KNOW what you have to do. Your soul knows. It has known for a long time. It has been your heart that has been conflicted. It has been your mind “of two minds”. But not it’s TIME. It’s time to COMPLETELY take that step. To make that 100% commitment to be in with all that you are “no holds barred”.

You have tried to take that step before. You thought you HAD taken it. And you did. But for some reason you took it and then stepped BACK. Not only stepped back, but stepped back again and it caused your soul anguish and unrest.

You saw doors open when you stepped FORWARD. You saw the “light”. You saw changes begin to occur that you thought might have been an “illusion” even as you believed they could be real. When you stepped back there was a “hold” on all that. There can be NO more “holding”.

You know deep down what you MUST do. You know how NUMINOUS the emotions sweeping through your essence are at taking that step. And you know you really have “no choice” but to take it. Not if you want your life to mean something again and you to bloom and blossom.

It’s not always easy doing what you must. Sometimes it’s not even “the right thing”. Even as it is the “perfect” thing to do for YOU. Dig deep and remember that you’re NOT alone in taking that step. Hold tight to the faith you have never let go of. TRUST and BELIEVE.

Believe in YOURSELF. Believe in your FUTURE. Believe that GREAT things will come, even if there is a “waiting period”. Still your soul and remember that “everything for a reason” and even if you don’t yet fully understand that reason, know that your instinct will always “lead you true”.

So take that step. That single step. Take it and KEEP walking. FORWARD.

MOTIVATIONAL OF THE DAY

YOUR HEART

“Sometimes God doesn’t change the situation because He’s trying to change your heart.” This really hits home, especially with everything that’s happened in the last quarter. I have to remind myself that “everything for a reason”, even when I am on my knees crying “WHY?! Why could You possibly want me HERE? For what purpose?” I don’t pretend to understand everything God does and why. Sometimes what He asks or wants us to do begs the question “WHY?!” but living on faith means we do trusting that HE knows what He’s doing.

The heart is a strange creature. Mine has almost always been hidden. It’s been locked up tight and guarded, like Sleeping Beauty’s castle surrounded by thorns, so no one gets in [and nothing gets out]. But He slowly started changing me in recent years and I let the determined “creep” their way inside. I let the “spell be broken” and the walls start crumbling down, the thorns gradually disappearing. Even as I kept a guard on watch, for still entry was to be granted only a rare few, albeit the world being able to “see” the tower and that there was a glimmer of light [not always cold] radiating from it.

But the day came when there was great destruction in the tower and the light did not glow as bright. There came a dawn of frost and a sheen of ice layered over the black. The storm passed, but not completely, and the harsh winds and vicious frost cause the ice to linger, even as the tiny flicker of fire inside the tower kept a small portion of it melted. The tower withstood the weather, retreating back away from the world despite remaining in the open, no longer as solitary as it had once been, seeing other towers in the distance, but realizing how isolated it had made itself and that only the truly determined would fight the elements and try to understand the terrain to make their way even to the base of the cliff that it rested upon.

It’s the little things that start adding up. It’s the glimmers of understanding that flicker in and out of view. It’s the moments of clarity amidst the fog that keeps one’s heart going, determined to make it through the storm, even if it doesn’t truly understand WHY. It’s finally realizing that sometimes God ALLOWS the storm and He KEEPS it in place until something INSIDE us changes, until WE start to change, until our HEART begins the transformation. It might take a day, a week, a month, a year, or longer, but He WILL take the time it needs to make the change. He WILL keep the winds blowing, the frost shivering, until that tiny flicker of fire is “fed” and allowed to light and heat more than a single room, shining light from the tower out into the world despite all that is going on around it.

MOTIVATIONAL OF THE DAY

EVOLUTION

Those whom I have let know and walk beside me can see how I have changed, the evolution that has occurred, and know that it is not yet over. Those who do not know me can also see in the time that they have known of me that something has changed and can only watch as that change continues to unfold.

I remember the person I was. I know that person. I understand her. I have seen how far she has come, how she has changed and the difference the changes have made. I also know how she is the same, the aspects that have grown stronger, darker, harder and more resilient, even as they are nothing as they were yet are.

I know where the woman I am is now. I know how conflicted is her heart and how close to complete breaking was her soul. I know the chaos that flees through her mind, the darkness that sometimes overshadows the light. I also know that it is a place she cannot stay.

I see where the evolution of my being can take me. I know that nothing is always as it seems and that a huge part of my future lies in the decisions and actions I choose upon in the now. I know that there is more growth to come, but that it can only make me better than who I am today.

Far from where I once was, but still far from where I will ultimately be, I can only make the choice to walk forward with courage and positivity, knowing that I am not alone, my strength drawn from Him, my refuge in Him, and that there is nothing that will come at me I cannot face without fear.
