MOTIVATIONAL OF THE DAY

TRY

When it seems the bleakest, the night the darkest, hope all but there, that’s when you need to try the HARDEST. When you have nothing to hold onto but your faith and the warmth of another hand wrapped tightly around your own, you can find the strength to keep going, to hang on, to try at least one more time.

You never know what one more effort might bring. You might know the pain and suffering that will surely ensue, but your soul also knows the joy and victory that comes with success, the price of trying that one more time. The time you might wonder why and feel is not worth it, because every other time has given the same outcome, but you never know when that outcome will suddenly CHANGE and your world will be as it should be.

One more time. One more effort. One more battle. One more day. ONE MORE. All it takes is a little faith and heart and hope and the willingness to give it that one last chance. YOUR last chance. For if you do not take it, you might forever lose what it is you have spent so long fighting for, and you can never do that, can never give up your heart and soul because you might be tired. You would never forgive yourself.

That one last time could be the difference between the ultimate sorrow and the most wondrous happiness. It could be the turning point between what was once “impossible” and what will forever thus be possible. It could be the start of your future in the realm of your dreams, leaving the past and its heartache behind you for good. It could be EVERYthing, mean everything, so you HAVE to try.

TRY. As hard as you can. Until it hurts so much your tears bleed. Until you are so exhausted you don’t know how you can still stand. Until the last breath whispers from your lungs. No matter what, you try and give it ALL you’ve got. Because this is YOUR life, and in the end, YOU must live with the decisions you make and the consequences of them.

MOTIVATIONAL OF THE DAY

ONE MORE TIME

Human beings are weak. It’s in our nature. However, just because we are weak, does not mean that we cannot also be strong, and often our biggest weakness is attached to our greatest strength. God gives us that weakness to remind us that we are not almighty, that we are not impervious to imperfection, that we all have a role to play in the game of life, our weaknesses [and strengths] determining the purpose of our role.

We can learn a lot about ourselves from our weaknesses. What we are made of, what sort of character we have, whether or not we have what it takes to succeed and do more than simply survive this world.

We all have many flaws and weaknesses. Perhaps the greatest sin is to have no ambition, to simply exist with no purpose whatsoever, letting life pass you by. If that is the greatest sin, then the greatest weakness is in giving up on something that we dream of having, because we do not have the courage or the willpower to continue our journey towards the accomplishment of something great.

If you want to succeed, you canNOT give up! You cannot give in without a fight! You canNOT give in, PERIOD! If you want something so badly that your heart bursts with your desire and you can think of nothing else, not only is it weakness, but sin to give up on it, to let your light fade into the recedes of time.

When you feel like giving up, when all hope seems lost and the future dim, remember in your heart why you want what you want, why you have tried for so long to attain it, and draw strength from that secret well within you to KEEP GOING! PRESS ON! KEEP THE FAITH! And you will most certainly SUCCEED!

2013 | Day 85: BETTER THAN YOU THINK

MOTIVATIONAL OF THE DAY

BETTER THAN YOU THINK

You might feel like you are not doing much; that you are floundering when you should be swimming; as if you are falling short of all expectation. Such feelings create disappointment in yourself, that you are not living up to your standard, like you are not trying hard enough, as if what you are doing is little compared to what you should be doing. All that is a FEELING and feelings are not always reality; they are our perception of a situation and not always THE “truth” of it.

If you ARE giving it your all, doing what you can when you can, no matter how you feel, whatever is thrown at you, even if you stumble or fall sometimes, then you are doing BETTER than you think. Others may comment on your progress and you do not “hear” them because you do not see the way they do, but take the time to LISTEN, because sometimes we all need to know that we’re doing all right.

No matter how hard we try we can sometimes feel like we’re not doing ENOUGH, and being told does not change that feeling, and we have to understand that our best is our BEST and we cannot do MORE than that. If you’re giving it your “all”, then you ARE doing better than you THINK, so give yourself a little room to breathe and ease back on the pressure you’re applying to your heart.

Take some space to step BACK and “see” the bigger picture; to understand what you HAVE done, even if you know you have a ways to go. NOTHING great is achieved overnight and sometimes it takes time to see the REAL fruits of your labour; know in your soul, that in the end, what you have been working towards WILL manifest. Until then, realize that you are doing better than you THINK and KEEP doing what you’re doing.

2013 | Day 52: YOUR WINGS

MOTIVATIONAL OF THE DAY

YOUR WINGS

It matters not what MIGHT happen, for life does not always heed the desperate prayers of our hearts, and sometimes we can find our dreams tossed aside, out of control of the result. What matters is what you DO about it. You can choose to wallow in self-pity or you can see it as an opportunity to start over, new and fresh, a chance to spread your wings and see if you can FLY.

We ALL have wings. Just not everyone USES them. Maybe you’ve let yours be cut off, but they can always grow BACK. Maybe they’ve been clipped for a while, but now when you stretch them you feel the new STRENGTH in them. Maybe they’ve been open, but you’ve never risked taking OFF to try them out. Maybe you HAVE been flying, but something just knocked you out of the sky.

If you were flying, maybe you were alone or flying WITH another. Another who challenged you to fly HIGHER, to be BETTER, to see the beauty in the sunrise from such heights. But now they are GONE or nowhere to be found. You cannot rely on them to keep you GOING, to keep you pushing forward, to keep you striving to fly higher. You must do it for YOURSELF.

If a lightning bolt struck you down in the midst of a thunderstorm and you’re lying broken, battered, and torn on the muddy ground, you HAVE to get back UP and fix your wings. You have to MEND them. You need to HEAL and only YOU can do that, because only you know what you need.

No one knows how long it will take to mend your broken wings, but you have to at least TRY, for if you don’t you are only short-changing YOURSELF. No one else can do it for you. You have to CHOOSE to rebuild what has been broken and then have the COURGAE to spread your wings and fly again. No matter what you know might happen when you do.
