BLINK OF AN EYE

Life can change in a heartbeat; a minute moment in time that you might not even notice. In the blink of an eye your entire WORLD can change; made into something you do not recognize. Life is UNpredictable, unwavering in its sudden changes in course; determined to see how much we value what we claim as precious and how we hold up when it is gone.

Those we love – SHOW them every day. Those we can never bear to lose – make sure they KNOW it. Those who cause pain – FORGIVE even if you never forget. Those who “bandaid” our hearts – LOVE them.

Life is fleeting and in less than the time it takes the wind to whistle through the leaves of a tree, faster than you could even see light flash through time, YOUR timeline can change in ways you might never have imagined. So make sure you make the MOST of the time you have with the ones you have, before they are taken from you, as leaves torn from a tree in a tornado.

LOSING AN ILLUSION

Even before the dust settles, you can begin to have clear vision. Even through the blurry haze in front of you, your instinct will know the truth. What you thought you knew was just an illusion, the suspicions in your heart revealed as truth before you. That final realization, the knot in the ball of your stomach, the racing of your heart and struggle to breathe, uncomfortable as it may be, will pass. The losing of that illusion will pass. And in the end you will be stronger for it. You will not allow yourself to be fooled again. You will listen to your instinct and not go against it because the words spoken into the world appear to ring truth.

It hurts. It hits deep, like a knife taken to your soul, tearing strips in it as one might tear skin from one in torture. You always thought you could trust the rare ones you let into your soul, and to find you were wrong is like waking up to harsh light after walking endless days in darkness. The world beneath your feet wobbles and threatens to destabilize you, but you have to find the strength to focus and hold on, keeping yourself upright, for you cannot let anyone see you buckle. You cannot let yourself buckle, for then what respect would you have left for yourself. What dignity could you hold onto?

Losing an illusion is a soul shattering event. It creates a rift in the trust in your heart that might not ever be repaired, and certainly will never be the same. It causes the wariness to creep back into your soul, a somewhat distant caring of what comes next, the beginning of new walls you’re not sure you will ever want to let be broken down. Losing an illusion, especially if that illusion was so real, will devastate you more than if you ever knew the entire truth from the start, and you have to forgive yourself for being human and wanting to believe in something beautiful, even if it all turned out to be a lie in the end.

MOTIVATIONAL OF THE DAY

THE ONES YOU LOVE

When you love someone, you don’t keep them in a cage. When you love someone, you give them FREEDOM. You let them OPEN their wings and give them the space they need to FLY. If they want you to soar with them, then JOIN them. But if they have to do some things alone, LET them.

For some, this is a fearful thought. They fear that the one they love will fly away and not return. If they love you, they WILL return. But you also have to create something for them to come BACK to. Together, you have to set down ROOTS in the life that you are BUILDING together. You have to give them something to WANT to come back to.

After having flown above the world, there must be something that will hold them to the “home” you have together. They must have a reason to STAY with a single being in a stationary place when they have had the freedom to be around multitudes and ever moving. You must be able to “keep up” with them and GROW with them, your love constantly EVOLVING as you both evolve, flying as you both fly, and never be something from which they might desire to flee.

MOTIVATIONAL OF THE DAY

LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL

The chirping of the birds in the morning, as you lie in bed, singing to each other and letting the world know that a new day has begun and it’s time to open your eyes. The sun streaming in through your windows or an overcast sky of grey, the air warm and gentle, welcoming you as you step out into it. The sounds of others in the house as you begin to move around, your morning routine so habitual it happens without thought, as you listen with a smile and watch fondly, the ones you love. The feel of the cold ground on your feet, harsh with tiny stones and sand, grating at your tender feet, the soft grass sharp contrast, each one required and sought at times. The whisper of the wind through the trees, past your cheek, lifting your hair, a swift moment of calm before the heat of the day sets back upon you. The sheer magnificence of God’s creation, nature in all its glory spread before you like a live film, the lakes in the distance, the cliff edge stood upon as you take a moment of reflection in the beauty before you.

Life is all around you. It is in front of you, beside you, behind you, in you, and it is BEAUTIFUL. Yes, there are times when the weight of the world and the burdens you bear alone can bring you down and you want to rest, to sink to your knees and just stay there awhile, maybe even sleep, if it could bring you peace, but if you OPEN your eyes, you will see that the world around you, amidst all the darkness and pain, is BEAUTIFUL. LIFE is beautiful, and you can filter out the aspects that cause your soul despair, focusing on the wonder before you, the expanse further than you can see but that you know of, the promise that is around the next turn or down the next drop, the smile as you look back and see the ones in your heart right there with you.

The ones that you LOVE make life beautiful. They make it worth living. They give you something to HOPE for, and when you hope, life has endless POSSIBILITY, magic just waiting to be discovered and explored, a lifetime of wonder set aside just for you. The life that you have, the life you have been given, and the life you create, will all come together in a tumbled mess, but it is a BEAUTIFUL mess and from it, God will fashion a MASTERPIECE. SO no matter what lies on your mind or body, let your soul take flight and soar up and over those cliffs, into the atmosphere of infinite dreams, and see that life is indeed BEAUTIFUL.
