MOTIVATIONAL OF THE DAY
NO SELF-JUDGEMENT
“You judge yourself harder than anyone I have ever met.”
Someone once told me this and they have never been alone in expressing that
sentiment.
It is hard NOT to criticize ourselves for our shortcomings
and flaws. Yet the truth is we will NEVER be “perfect” and it is unreasonable
to expect ourselves to be. This does not mean we should not expect highly of
ourselves, but because we ARE human and WILL “mess up” sometimes, learn that it
is NOT ok to perpetually beat ourselves up when we “fail” to meet the personal standards
we have set.
“Today, I will not judge myself.” I saw these words this
morning and they hit a chord. That someone was right: I do not judge others,
but expect “everything” from myself and always have.
Our self-talk is so very important, the inner dialogue that reverberates
inside consciously and unconsciously guiding and driving us in thought and
action, and I know better than anyone that we can be our own destruction more
than anything else. Imagine, just for a moment, a single day where you do NOT
judge yourself and simply LOVE the flawed being that you are.
Maybe it is time to not JUST imagine. Time to release
anything negative or toxic withIN, give “freedom” of complete and unconditional
acceptance of self. I am willing to try and see what difference it makes.

MOTIVATIONAL OF THE DAY
ACTS OF KINDNESS
It doesn’t take much – a smile, a hug, a few words of
encouragement – to make a difference. You never know just what they might do,
how significant such a small gesture might be to a soul in pain or struggling.
Sometimes one small act of kindness, conscious or not, can change the course of
another’s life – change their perspective, the words going over in their mind
that they tell themselves, and in turn, their beliefs about themselves that
from their actions stem.
We are not alone in this world. We are surrounded by billions
of other souls, none any less significant or less precious than our own. We
might never know the majority of them, never come into contact with multitudes,
but we can also never UNDERestimate the effect we can make, even on those we will
never physically meet – the words they read online or in print, the images they
see that imprint into their psyche, the way everything comes together to form
their reality of themselves.
No matter WHO you are - your “status” in life through power
and position, the experiences that shaped you and created the person you are
today – you can make a difference in someone ELSE’S life. All of us can. Just
by opening our eyes to our hearts and understanding that even if one smiles
does not mean there is not pain in their soul, because one laughs does not mean
that the sound of tears does not echo louder inside them, when one extends a
helping hand does not mean that they know how to deal with what is going on in
their own life.
By realizing this, we can start to see how one small act of
kindness every day can help not only others, but also OURSELVES. When you are
in pain and give a smile you do not feel because you cannot bear to see another
in pain can slowly warm your heart. Laughing with another even when you want to
cry can slowly ease the burden of your tears. Extending a hand to help another
in need can slowly give a glow that spreads through your soul, knowing that
everything in time and for a purpose.
By changing something we might not even think we changed, we
CAN make a difference. Making a difference in the life of another can ripple
effect into the lives of those we do not even know, spread further than we
could ever fathom, and start a chain reaction that changes more than we might
possibly imagine. ONE small act of kindness might not change the world, but it
is a START, for it starts with US, and when we change OURSELVES, we have the
power to change ANYthing.

MOTIVATIONAL OF THE DAY
BE GOOD TO YOURSELF
Sometimes we spend so much time looking after and out for
others that we forget to take care of OURSELVES. We work ourselves into the
ground trying to do everything for everyone else, being strong for everyone
else, making life work for everyone else, that we neglect to take care of
ourselves. We allow our energy to be drained in our service to others, our
strength to be used to nurture others, our minds to be consumed by thoughts of
how to make things better for everyone else, but ourselves. And when that happens,
you have NOTHING left for yourself. You drain yourself dry. You don’t nourish
yourself, or replace what is being used, giving back to yourself so that you do
not lose of yourself.
It’s fine to give, but it’s NOT fine to give and give and
give until that’s all you’re doing, not taking care of yourself, not looking
out for YOUR best interests, not accepting help from others because you have to
be the one doing everything, until eventually you find yourself collapsing,
shattered and broken, with nothing left to help yourself, empty and alone.
You have to be GOOD to YOURSELF. You have to nourish and feed
yourself – whether it be taking time out every day just for YOU and no one
else, meditating, filling yourself with the Spirit and refreshing your soul,
speaking positive words of encouragement and empowerment over yourself and your
life. You have to relax and recuperate – whether it is having a day off doing
everything for everyone and focusing solely on you, so that your body and your
mind stays strong and doesn’t run out of energy or spirit. You have to learn to
be selfish and say “no” sometimes, because you cannot do and be everything to
everyone all of the time, and you need to learn what you CAN do, what you
cannot, and accept that, instead of piling all the world’s burdens on your own
shoulders.
You have to be GOOD to YOURSELF. When you are good to
yourself, then you can be good to OTHERS. You are better equipped to deal with
others and their demands, and you will not bleed yourself dry in trying to manage
those demands.
You have to be GOOD to YOURSELF to be of any use to ANYONE
ELSE! So, if you are not and know you must be, start today! BE GOOD TO
YOURSELF!

MOTIVATIONAL OF THE DAY
SAY "YES" TO YOU
You have had something on your heart for a long time now.
Something that should been done when you FIRST recognized it, but never was
because you were too busy taking care of everyone else and their needs,
ignoring your own in a misplaced sense of loyalty. But now that something is of
PARAMOUNT importance to do, for such a deep-seated desire does not get laid on
one’s heart for no reason, and it’s time to start thinking about your OWN
health and happiness, to begin doing what will be BEST for you.
First, you must learn to be SELFISH. Hard for those who
always put others before themselves, who have taken care of everyone else all
their life and neglected themselves until they could no longer ignore the
warning signals inside. Being selfish we all need to be sometimes, for if we do
not take care of ourselves we are NOT going to be in any position to be of
service to others. We also need to realize that when WE are healthy and happy,
then we are better equipped to create POSITIVE impact in others’ lives.
You are at the point where you can no longer ignore that
desire, when it MUST be taken care of before all else, not just because it
should have been done, but because if it is NOT, you will never be able to live
your life as completely as you were meant to. You WANT to become ALL you have
the potential and power to be, and to do that this must be DONE. You have made
the decision and now it is time to ACT on it, creating the reality that you
have sought in your heart for a long time.
Realize that saying “no” to everyone else and their needs
for a time is NOT bad, for not only must they learn to start taking care of
themselves and not rely on draining you of everything you have and are to keep
them satisfied, but you need to start thinking of YOU and YOUR best interests.
Life changes and we change with it and that change should constantly be making
us into something BETTER than we are. To become better, you have to know what
you NEED to do to reach that next level and just DO it, no matter the cost.
There is ALWAYS going to be a cost to doing what must be
done, but that is nothing compared to what will be if you do NOT move. Your
life is your own, so start allowing it to be. Start allowing yourself to LIVE.
Start allowing that glimpse of happiness to become a ray of hope that spreads
throughout your being, into all corners of your soul and life. Start allowing
that inner voice to say “YES” to yourself, accepting that you must in order for
your life to truly move FORWARD.
