MOTIVATIONAL OF THE DAY

THOSE IN YOUR LIFE

The PEOPLE in your life can be very important. If you surround yourself with negative and toxic people, you will eventually find yourself dragged down to their depths, and that is not where you want to be. If you are surrounded by people who seek only to limit your potential and are jealous to see you spread your wings and fly, you will eventually either become resentful that you are “stopped” at every turn or you will begin to become negative and toxic. If you surround yourself with people who have been through destruction and pain and can still smile and see the beauty and good in life, then you will find yourself encouraging each other and lending strength when it is needed. If you surround yourself with positive and motivating people who believe in you and support your dreams, you will find yourself enjoying an abundant life full of blessings as you reach further and strive higher with those also moving forward in life.

Who you choose to ALLOW yourself to be surrounded by can make a huge difference in your life. Are those closest to you truly the ones who know and see and accept you for who you are and will only seek to encourage you, yet not be afraid to confront you because they care if they see yourself in a place of destruction and tell you the truth even if you do not want to see it? Or are they those who claim to know who you are, even as they do not understand your truth and purpose and only seek your attention when they want it or have no one else to turn to? Are those you let close holding you accountable and challenging you so that you grow, as you are them, and do they have your best interests at heart, as you do theirs? Or are you simply a passing whim to them, a moment of pleasure or a “novelty” they think delightful until it no longer serves them?

WHO are the people in your life? Who are you SURROUNDING yourself with? Who are you allowing into your INNER circle? Are they true souls or soulless facades? Do they truly listen to you and support you, or do they only criticize and condemn and seek to tear you down? Do they know what makes you truly happy and can they tell the difference, or do they just call you “happy” when you smile?

The negative, the toxic, the limiters, the energy demons, the “stagnant”, the fake – they will all ultimately hold you BACK from tapping your true potential and seeing your dreams realized. But the positive, the supporters, the warriors, the pioneers, the real who see and know your heart – they will walk WITH you into the fulfilment of all you are meant to be and more.

As you ask yourself who you surround yourself with, ask yourself what type of person YOU are and what YOU give to others’ lives. You know who you DON’T want in YOUR life, so if you are not already, choose to be one you WOULD have and seek to make an inspiring and positive difference in the lives of all those you touch.

2012 | Day 278: VISION AND REALITY

MOTIVATIONAL OF THE DAY

VISION AND REALITY

If you want something, you HAVE to do what you need to for it to HAPPEN. If you have a vision, you have to DO for it to become a REALITY. If you have a dream, YOU have to ACT for it to manifest.

Having a dream, a vision, wanting – it should all be about creating a BETTER you, someone who has a wealth of knowledge and experience behind them, unafraid to let the world see what they are, because they are no longer that person. Your past may have created the circumstances that moulded you, but it does NOT define who and what you are – that is something YOU have to do for yourself, so stand STRONG and be CONFIDENT in knowing your vision, that the path you are walking is going to lead you to a higher place, a better you.

Know your PURPOSE and then SHARE it. Share it so that you can garner the SUPPORT you need to make it HAPPEN. You CAN do it on your own, but you never truly accomplish anything ALONE, even if it is a “solo” act.

Having a VISION means having a future that is not JUST for you, but that makes a DIFFERENCE in the lives of others as well. YOU may be the one who gets down to the nitty-gritty, because you know better than anyone what it is you want, but TOGETHER make it a reality.

Day 38: Building My Support Network

QUOTE OF THE DAY

"We all have dreams. But in order to make our dreams come into reality, it takes an awful lot of determination, dedication, self-discipline, and effort. The person who makes a success of living is the one who sees his goal steadily and aims for it unswervingly. That is dedication." - Walt Ostarly

COMMENTS

Sleep - Time and Quality: ~5 hours.

Mood/Aggression: The BEST today - huge smiles and thanks to Walt!

Energy: I've been running around the house with excitement! Definitely have energy - although training efforts could suggest otherwise, LOL.

Endurance: Good.

Strength: Increasing the weights and making sure progress was made on all fronts from last week.

Pump: In anterior delts.

Vascularity: Stunning - now THIS is what I want for photoshoots and always!

Quality of Training: Had to split my sprints into two sets this morning my body was that 'off'. Sprints were still done at 100%, and still covered the same distance each time, but between them I was suffering a lot more than usual. Did 20 minutes, though, and going to keep it at that from now on . . . Resistance training was fun, but not. Fun, because I went up in weights. Not, because my left anterior deltoid was in PAIN. But, pushed through . . . Post-Weights Cardio is going to have to become a regular occurrence after 4/5 resistance sessions from now on, for ~20 minutes . . .

Appetite: Walt says that, "Doing a nutrition plan nearly right and doing it exactly right is usually the difference between success and failure." Whilst that may not be the case for everyone, and not for me to get into competition condition, it IS going to be more important than ever for my health and for me to get into the condition I want to be in!

Other Notes: I have realized just how important this is, and I am building my support network: Sponsors, mentors, supporters, photographers, etc. I have been inspired, motivated, and encouraged by many individuals, and I am grateful to all of them for their belief in me.

Competition Notes: ~8 weeks until competition - I am NOT counting the week pre-competition, because that is strictly for competition-specific preparation, and I should ALREADY be in competition shape 2-3 weeks out. I definitely want to win my Pro card in THIS competition, but it's not just about that, or doing better than last time anymore - there is a LOT riding on this competition in more ways than one!

FIT TIP OF THE DAY

High stress can lead to increased cortisol levels. Studies have shown a negative correlation between cortisol and total testosterone, with an increase in cortisol associated with a decrease in total testosterone, a combination that can make it difficult to optimize fat loss. Therefore, to maintain optimal cortisol and testosterone levels, managing stress levels becomes essential, and decreasing stress will in turn decrease the cortisol levels in your body, allowing you to lose fat more efficiently.
