Day 73: 123 Days Out

MOTIVATIONAL QUOTE OF THE DAY

"If there is no passion in your life, then have you really lived? Find your passion, whatever it may be. Become it, and let it become you and you will find great things happen FOR you, TO you and BECAUSE of you." - Monica Brant

TRAINING

HIIT Cardio - Run:
a. 4 min jogging
b. 26 x 20 sec sprint/10 sec easy
c. 4 min jogging

Stretch 20 min.

COMMENTS

Sleep - Time and Quality: Going to sleep at the time wanting to be getting up. The double resistance sessions are actually taking more out of me overall than expected, and I am sleeping for 6-8 hours.

Mood/Aggression: Positive I have my confidence back - in me and my ability to achieve what I want by when I want it!

Energy: Definite energy - it's lasting quite a while as well throughout the day.

Libido: Highish.

Joints: Left wrist a dull ache.

Endurance: Good.

Vascularity: Strong.

Quality of Training: HIIT was good. More sprints. Feeling a little dead heavy though.

Recovery: Sleeping longer after a day of double resistance sessions . . . A little stiff in legs today . . .

Body Composition and Look: Top two abs perfect right now - now for the REST of me!

Other Notes: It's my last day using Shift today . . . I am looking forward to having TWO summers this year! Looking forward to going home, seeing family and friends, and celebrating the newness of life that this year will have brought! It's been a long time in coming . . .

2010: Day 58

QUOTE OF THE DAY

"Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It's a very mean and nasty place, and I don't care how tough you are, it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain't about how hard you hit. It's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward; how much you can take and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done! Now, if you know what you're worth, then go out and get what you're worth. But you gotta be willing to take the hits, and not pointing fingers saying you ain't where you wanna be because of him, or her, or anybody. Cowards do that and that ain't you. You're better than that! . . . Cause if you're willing to go through all the battling you got to go through to get where you want to get, who's got the right to stop you? . . . It's your right to listen to your gut, it ain't nobody's right to say no after you earned the right to be where you want to be and do what you want to do!" - Rocky Balboa, Rocky Balboa

COMMENTS

Sleep - Time and Quality: ~8 hours. Still NOT cool. I AM going to get my body BACK INTO SCHEDULE AS I WANT IT, no matter what it takes!

Energy: Not bouncing off the walls, but not completely dead, either.

Stress: Just went up a few notches after seeing this week's body statistics, but it's nothing that can't be worked out through hard work and discipline!

Joints: Erase has FINALLY kicked in!

Endurance: Ok.

Strength: The V-Burn Challenge Circuit is not about strength.

Pump: High.

Vascularity: Blue on top of my skin.

Quality of Training: If today is any indication of my fitness level, then I am DEFINITELY going to have to take it UP quite a few notches to get my body back to where I can train for hours and hours again without batting an eyelid.

Body Composition and Look: 126.6 pounds at 11.7% bodyfat. GAINED 0.7% bodyfat over the last week! WTF?! Nutrition definitely needs to be tightened up, and I AM going to be cutting like anyone else this time around - I can't afford NOT to! Training with high volume and even MORE intensity is definitely the way to go as well!

Other Notes: Last day of my current stash of Alpha-T2 tomorrow, so will be dosing Shift instead of Alpha-T2 from 1 March.

FIT TIP OF THE DAY

If you want fat loss, carbohydrates are NOT the enemy! You NEED at least 50-100 grams of CHO per day for your body to burn fat effectively and to provide the energy requirements of your brain and central nervous system (Wardlaw & Hampl, 2007). A good guideline is to have at least 1 gram of CHO per kg of body mass per day as a MINIMUM (Burke, 2006).

2010: Day 51

QUOTE OF THE DAY

"As we grow up, we learn that even the one person that wasn't supposed to ever let us down, probably will. You'll have your heart broken and you'll break others' hearts. You'll fight with your best friend or maybe even fall in love with them, and you'll cry because time is flying by. So take too many pictures, laugh too much, forgive freely, and love like you've never been hurt. Life comes with no guarantees, no time outs, no second chances. You just have to live life to the fullest, tell someone what they mean to you and tell someone off, speak out, dance in the pouring rain, hold someone's hand, comfort a friend, fall asleep watching the sun come up, stay up late, be a flirt, and smile until your face hurts. Don't be afraid to take chances or fall in love and most of all, live in the moment because every second you spend angry or upset is a second of happiness you can never get back." - Unknown

MUSIC VIDEO OF THE DAY

Daft Punk - Aerodynamic

An old song, but I love the instrumental, and sometimes it's just good to listen to something uplifting and different.

TRAINING

Ended up having today off.

COMMENTS

Sleep - Time and Quality: Probably close to ~10 hours - WTF? Passed out on the couch during a movie, and woke up at 0519, which is ideal - even earlier! - to get up, had a shower, and went to bed for a few hours.

Mood/Aggression: Pretty blah today.

Energy: I actually don't have much energy today - not like a few days ago when I couldn't stop bouncing around!

Recovery: Feel it in anterior delts a little from yesterday.

Body Composition and Look: 124.8 pounds at 11% bodyfat. I have not remained as low re body composition as I desired, but the upper body mass re shoulders and arms from the last five weeks is noticeable - as is the mass gained in my LOWER body. I am the largest I have EVER been - upper AND lower- re girths, and the lower body mass is NOT WANTED! Therefore, I am going to do my BEST to lose that lower body mass withOUT stripping the hard-earned muscle from my UPPER body! I have ~3-4% bodyfat to lose - and whilst I know that scale weight is not really important, for this competition, I will have to lose ~15-20 pounds (not something I am proud to admit, since I usually simply do NOT let myself get this big, but this is all about accountability, right), the lean mass lost mostly from food and water weight no doubt (and lower body, since I don't mind it going from there). It's time to turn my body back into the LEAN machine that it is used to being!

Other Notes: Started back on Alpha-T2 and Erase today. Also started using Shift - I will dose once pre-bed.

Competition Notes: Seven weeks to competition. Six weeks maximum to get into competition shape. Five weeks ideally to be in the shape I want to be in. Time to kick myself into HIGH gear, returning to 2-a-day training sessions 2-4 times a week, ensuring pre and post-weights cardio is completed, and ALL sessions are as INTENSE as possible!

FIT TIP OF THE DAY

"Go confidently in the direction of your dreams! Live the life you've imagined. As you simplify your life, the laws of the universe will be simpler." - Henry David Thoreau
